Our History Tacoma Youth Chorus was founded in 1991 by Judith Herrington, Music Director at Charles Wright Academy Lower School. Since 1991, the chorus has grown from 34 members in a single choir to almost 240 singers in seven choirs with three directors. The Chorus has been enthusiastically received by audiences throughout south Puget Sound at diverse venues. Tacoma Youth Chorus traditionally hosts several major concerts each season, including three in December and two in the spring. Many other concerts are performed throughout the year in collaboration with other groups and by invitation. We have been educating talented young musicians since 1991. |
