This Saturday, November 3rd, is going to be a busy day of music making! First, Chorale is going to have a rehearsal from 1:00-3:00pm (see Sounds of the Season CDS for more information). This is followed by the first combined rehearsal with Concert Choir and Chamber Choir. In preparation for Sounds of the Season with Symphony Tacoma, we will be working with Dr. Boers on our combined repertoire, as well as sharing our progress with families and friends.
The sharing will include some of our separate work in Concert Choir and Chamber Choir, as well as some combined pieces that we are preparing for our upcoming concerts. This is a great opportunity for friends and families to get a sense of what our rehearsals look like and “behind the scenes” of our learning processes.
Information you may need:
Where: Charles Wright Academy Middle School Commons
Parent Sharing: 5:00pm-5:30pm
TYC Uniform: TYC t-shirt, dark jeans, comfortable shoes

This upcoming Saturday (September 22nd) is our Fall Chorale Retreat! The retreat is a great way to get the year started with Chorale, Men’s Choir, and Women’s Choir. It will begin at 11:00am at Mason United Methodist Church in the Proctor neighborhood of North Tacoma. It will end with a Parent Sharing at 4:00, and be finished no later than 4:30pm. The Parent Sharing is a way for parents to get a sneak peek on the music that the Chorale singers are learning for our Fall performances. Singers should bring their music and a water bottle! All other details can be found in TYC Access (the Concert Detail Sheet (CDS) is posted on the Noticeboard) or in the Concert Detail Sheet (CDS) that went home with singers at the first rehearsal.
We look forward to seeing you there!
We are pleased to announce that we will be joined by award-winning Canadian composer and choral director Brian Tate for workshops on Friday March 16 and Saturday March 17. He will be working with our singers in Chamber Choir (grades 6-8) and Chorale (grades 9-12). This event will culminate in a music sharing for our families and friends. You are invited! We hope you’ll join us!

Our TYC Bring A Friend rehearsals are this Tuesday and Wednesday! These are always fun times of sharing music and friendship. Current members are encouraged to bring a buddy (no appointment needed) to visit a rehearsal, join in the singing, and learn what TYC is all about.
Visitors who are interested in checking out TYC but don’t know a current member are also welcome to come – Bring A Friend Day is a great time to try out TYC!
